Fine-tuning the N-Slice data in the NSliceSpriteRenderer component

N-Slice Data Control

After N-Slice Data is assigned, you can adjust various properties of that data. This page explains how to fine-tune N-Slice data settings.

N-Slice Information Display

Once data is assigned, the following information is displayed in the inspector:

  • N-Slice Configuration: Shown in the format "N-Slice: [rows] rows x [columns] columns"
  • Source Sprite: A thumbnail of the original sprite is displayed on the right

Data Selection and Switching

Available N-Slice Data Dropdown

  • Shows a list of all N-Slice Data assets available in the project
  • Allows easy switching between different N-Slice Data from the dropdown
  • The currently selected data is highlighted

Data Editing Options

Edit Button

  • Opens the settings for the currently selected N-Slice Data for editing
  • Allows modification of N-Slice division settings, border settings, etc.

Create New Button

  • Creates a new N-Slice Data asset
  • Can also create copies based on existing data

Delete Button

  • Deletes the currently selected N-Slice Data asset
  • Warning: Deleted assets cannot be recovered, so use with caution
  • Deleting data that's in use by other objects will affect those objects

Usage Tips

  • Multiple objects can share the same N-Slice Data, so modifying data may affect other objects
  • Systematic management of N-Slice Data assets in your project makes them easier to find later
  • Give assets meaningful names to clarify their purpose
